CPI(ML) puts government in dock over rising crimes

Patna, Aug 3 (UNI) CPI(ML) general secretary Deepankar Bhattacharya today announced that his party would organise a mass meeting on August 25 at Biharsharif in protest against rising crimes in the state.

Mr Bhattacharya told mediapersons here that criminal-Politician- police nexus was responsible for the "failure" of the state government in curbing the rising crimes.

He said his party would demand for restoration of the Amir Das Commision and steps to curb rising atrocities against the weaker sections during 10-day public awareness programme, scheduled to be on August 6.

Dharna and demonstration would also be held on the related issues on August eight in Patna, he added.

The CPI(ML) leader said even home district of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was not alien and there was spurt in the killings of politicians, farmers and people from oppressed section of the society.

Mr Bhattacharya also released a list of those, who were gunned down in Nalanda district during the tenure of Mr Kumar.
