Trade Tax imposed on cooked food, confectionary

Lucknow, Aug 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today announced imposition of Eight per cent Trade Tax (TT) on cooked food and confectionaries.

The TT has been imposed on cakes, pastries, toffees, chocolates, confectionary and biscuits. However, this excludes bread, buns and rusks said to costumers have been excluded.

Also, 12.5 per cent TT has been imposed on cooked food on sale to consumers.

A notification to this effect has been issued by state principal secretary tax Chandramauli, official sources confirmed here.
