Sensex opens four points in red at 10.747 level
Mumbai, Aug 2: Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex) today opened four points down but soon recovered as the Fitch ratings of India to investment grade still weighed on the investors' mind.
The Sensex opened at 10,747.13 as compared to the previous close of 10,751.66 points and is currently trading at 10,772.58 points, which is 20 points up from the previous close.
The Asian stocks recovered from the lower level and the benchmark indices in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore were all up.
Major sectoral indices on the BSE are trading in the green. Auto was up 1.26 per cent, capital goods up 1.25 per cent and midcap up 0.64 per cent.
Among major losers are HDFC, Wipro, ICICI, Reliance Communications, HLL and HDFC Bank, all down between 0.74 to 1.07 per cent.
Top gainers are BHEL, NTPC, Tata Motors, L&T, Dr Reddy's Lab and Hindalco, all up between 1.2 to 3.28 per cent.
