Salman Khan Case: Prosecution allowed to re-examine hostile witness
Mumbai, Aug 2 (UNI) A local court here today adjourned till October 11 the trial proceedings into the hit-and-run case in which Bollywood actor Salman Khan stands accused.
Public prosecutor Neeta Pasarkar filed an application seeking the court's permission to re-examine Mohammed Abdul Sheikh, who had suffered injury in the accident but who had turned hostile during his examination on the last occasion.
Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Dilip Joshi granted the permission and then adjourned the matter till October 11.
The prosecution has already examined five witnesses including prime witness Ravindra Patil, a cop who had served as Salman Khan's bodyguard.
On September 28, 2002, Salman Khan's vehicle had allegedly rammed into a bakery at Pali Hill here killing one person and injuring four others.
Mohammed Abdul Sheikh, one of the injured, had turned hostile on the last occasion by retracting on his earlier statement to the police that he had seen Salman Khan alighting from his vehicle after the accident.
