Rajarajeshwari Medical College comes to aid of Chikungunya-hit
Bangalore, Aug 2 (UNI) The Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital has taken the initiative to treat Chikungunya victims in Ramanagaram taluk, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's Assembly constitutency in Bangalore Rural district.
Following an appeal from the Chief Minister, the hospital authorities have formed a 12-member medical team to visit every village in the taluk to treat patients and distribute free medicine.
Besides, the medical team also created awareness about the disease in the taluk, an official release here said today.
Appreciating the initiative, Mr Kumaraswamy urged both Government and private hospitals to emulate Rajarajeshwari Medical hospital's work in other parts of the State.
It may be recalled that over six lakh people were suferring from the dreaded Chikungunya disease, with Bangalore Rural district topping the list with over 80,000 victims.
