Lucknow, Aug 2 (UNI) The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today ordered Era Lucknow Medical College here to file counter affidavit within two weeks for demanding one lakh dollars capitation fee from a girl student for admission.

The Uttar Pradesh government has also been asked to file a reply on the issue.

The student, Ritika Chaturvedi, had figured in the merit list of the CPMT entrance examination, 2006.

A single judge bench comprising Justice Rajeev Sharma passed the order on her petition in this regard.

Ms Chaturvedi claimed she was among the 25 candidates, who had secured admission in Era on the basis of merit.

However, the private medical college was demanding the whopping capitation fee, which was illegal, she alleged.
