New Delhi, Aug 2: Sticking to his position, senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh today asked the Government to order an ''honest inquiry'' to unearth the name of the mole in the Prime Minister's Office he claims had compromised national security during the Narasimha Rao regime.

''...now it is for Manmohan Singh to come out with the name. I am sure if they (the Government) conduct an honest inquiry we can get the name(s) out,'' Mr Singh told Aaj Tak in an interview aired tonight.

Asked why he was shying away from naming the mole, the leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha said his whole intention was to draw the Government's attention to national security issues.

''The whole CTBT clause talks about the constant surveillance. An officer in the US Embassy is sent back. RAW is being compromised.

There have been cracks in the Research and Development facilities.

The NSA says that militants have infiltrated the defence forces and the militants could target our nuclear installations. Now tell me, has the situation changed or still the same,'' he asked.

Mr Singh asked the Prime Minister to explain the abandonment of the nuclear test by the Rao Government when he was the Finance Minister. ''The PM should reveal whether he was in favour or opposed to the test,'' he said.

''He (Dr Singh) was a senior minister in the cabinet, was he in favour of the test or opposed to it. And if he did not oppose the test, then what role did he play,'' the BJP leader asked.
