Kolkata, Aug 2 (UNI) Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation, a leading provider of IT services, expects to register a revenue of at least $1.37 billion in 2006 and US $363 million in the third quarter.

In a statement today, the company released its outlook for the next quarter and the fiscal 2006.

The company registered a revenue of US $ 336.8 million in the second quarter of 2006, which is a growth of 18 per cent from $285.5 million in the corresponding period in the previous year.

A company said that GAAP net income was $55.1 million, while the net income for the second quarter increased to $61.0 million on a non-GAAP basis compared to $36.0 million in the corresponding quarter in 2005.

"We are very pleased with our strong second quarter results, driven by significant revenue growth across an expanding range of industries, service-offerings and geographies," said President and CEO of Cognizant Lakshmi Narayanan.

''As expected, our leadership in financial services, healthcare and life sciences, combined with our competitive expertise in newer verticals, allowed us to generate significant growth from our continually expanding client base,'' he added.
