Ashok Leyland plans expansion at Alwar plant, bus unit in West Asia

Mumbai, Aug 02 (UNI) Ashok Leyland, the second largest commercial vehicle maker, plans to set up a bus body building facility in West Asia and another one at its manufacturing facility at Alwar in Rajasthan.

Announcing this, the company said it would set up manufacturing installations for its bus body at its facility in Alwar, Rajasthan while the other location was yet to be decided. Also, it said the company is currently on the look out for a suitable location in West Asia.

Meanwhile, the shareholders of Ashok Leyland gave their approval to raise USD 150 million (about Rs 700 crore) for the expansion of its manufacturing capacity to one lakh from 77,000 commercial vehicles.
