2 HUJI ultras and a jawan killed in Doda encounter

Jammu, Aug 2 (UNI) Two Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami militants (HUJI) and a soldier were killed in a fierce encounter in Doda district today, official sources said.

They said on a specific information, security forces cordoned off village Cachall Chatru in Kishtwar tehsil of Doda district early this morning.

During the operation militants attacked the search party with automatic weapons, which was retaliated by the troops.

The slian ultras were identifed as Mohammad lshtiyaq alias Zakir, Tehsil commander of HUJI and Mohammad Yousuf while the jawan was identified as Jatender Ssingh of 11 Rashtriya Rifles, the sources said.

Two AK-56 rifles, two magazines, 19 rounds and two hand grenades were seized from the encounter site.
