Tada Court to decide Salem's custody by Delhi Police tomorrow

Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) The Tada Court today deferred till tomorrow, the order of handing over custody of extradited gangster and blast accused Abu Salem to Delhi Police, as the CBI has not submitted the list of witnesses to be examined before the court in the separate trial of the don.

A team of Delhi Police was present in the court during the day to obtain Salem's custody for interrogating him in an extortion case.

Tada Judge P D Kode, who had earlier heard Delhi Police plea, in his order said that till the CBI does not submit the list of witnesses, the accused cannot be handed over to them.

Earlier, the Tees Hazari Court (Delhi) had issued a production warrant against Salem, to enable Delhi Police to probe him in the extortion case.

In a related development, the court has also deferred till tomorrow, the announcement of the date of commencement of the separate trial of Salem and his associate Riyaz Siddique.
