Railways FC hold Mohemmedan Sporting to goalless draw

Kolkata, Aug 1 (UNI) After Mohun Bagan had to bite dust yesterday, Mohemmedan Sporting were held to a goalless draw in the Kolkata Premier League by Railways FC at the YBK stadium here today.

Mohemmedan Sporting began on a positive note but were never able to convert their territorial supremacy into goals.

However, they had three easy chances, which if they could make count of, would have helped them take home full points.

Mohemmedan Sporting lost the first chance in the first half with Bijen Singh failing to put his head to the ball. In the 66th minute, Nizam headed into the ground from close rather than heading into the goal.

Late into the 88th minute, a Douglas header found the cross piece.

This was also the only time that Douglas could be seen in the match.

For Railways FC, they played to a plan and took home one point deservingly.

East Bengal begins their campaign tomorrow and it is only to be seen whether after the big two, the thrid one is thwarted at the starting block or not.
