Police bust racket of bar girls passports on fake papers
Muzaffarpur, Aug 1(UNI) Muzaffarpur police have busted a racket by which bar girls earlier employed in Mumbai were trying to leave the country on the strength of passports issued from Patna on the basis of fake and forged documents.
The racket involved obtaining passports for non eligible persons on the basis of forged documents.
The existence of the gang came to light in this district during verification of documents sent by the passport office of Patna.
Muzaffarpur range IG of police Suneet Kumar said today that passport office of Patna had sent the applications supported by relevant documents to Muzaffapur police on June 28 for verification of authenticity in respect of 16 persons. During investigation, addresses mentioned in the applications as well as signatures of the police officials on the documents were found fake.
Most of the fake applicants were girls in the age group of 23-26 and some of them were identified as bar girls earlier working in Mumbai,he added.
