Now, picturesque Goa to have it's own Film city
Panaji, Aug 1 (UNI) International tourist destination Goa, which has become the permanent venue for International Film Festival of India (IFFI), may soon have it's own Film city.
Industries and Education Minister Luizinho Faleiro indicated so while addressing students of Goa College of Music (GCM) on the occasion of 'Sangeet Samaroh' commemorating GCM's 19th foundation day here today.
Mr Faleiro said he would direct the Industrial Development Corporation to explore the possibility of identifying the suitable place for the proposed film city.
The Minister informed that the state proposes to set up a film city to provide much needed exposure to Goan artists and self-employment in the entertainment sector because due to the non-availability of the film city, Goan artists were being forced to go to Mumbai to pursue their film careers.
Goa, with its scenic locations, has always attracted Bollywood and recents movies shot in the tiny state include 'Holiday' by Pooja Bhatt and 'My brother Nikhil' by Onir among others.
