Missing woman from Pune found in Jodhpur's old age home

Pune, Aug 1 (UNI) A 70-year-old woman, who went missing in May, has been found in an old age home at Jodhpur and would be reunited with her family tomorrow.

The missing lady's son Mahadev Patil, a Pune resident, had recently approached a news channel with her photographs and sought their help in tracing her which telecast a news story on her, resulting in the family reunion.

Patil said his mother had gone missing since May 10 and he had lodged a missing complaint. He said that his mother was mentally unsound and had gone off in a huff on two previous occasions.

However, she would return after a few hours. But this time she never returned till the doctor who treated her at old age home saw her on a news channel and recognised her.

The old lady identified as Laxmibai Patil, alias Akka Tai belonged to the Lingayat Community and spoke a mix of Marathi and Kannada making it difficult for doctors to locate her family. At the old age home, she would accept only fluids and said she would only eat a meal when her son would come to fetch her. However, it is yet to be known how she reached Jodhpur's old age home.
