US Coffee retail company exploring Indian market
New Delhi, Aug 1: Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jairam Ramesh today told the Lok Sabha that a leading US-based coffee retail company has been making enquiries about the possibility of opening their retail outlets in India.
However, there have been no firm developments in this regard, Mr Jairam Ramesh said in a written reply.
The Minister said the government has identified increasing coffee consumption in the country as one of the priority areas to bring about a better about balance between supply and demand and stabilise coffee prices. In this context, players with resources in the coffee retail market will help to boost coffee consumption in the country, he said.
