Bangalore, Aug 1 (UNI) A local court here today adjourned to August eight, hearing on the admissibility of the criminal defamation case filed by the Karnataka Government against suspended BJP Legislator G Janardhana Reddy.

Bangalore Metropolitan Session Judge Keshava Narayan posted the case for further arguments, after Special Public Prosecutor C H Hanumantharaya pleaded with the court to take cognisance of the complaint.

The State Government had filed the case against Mr Reddy after the latter accused Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and two of his Cabinet colleagues of receiving a bribe of Rs 150 crore from mine operators in Bellary district.

Mr Hanumantharaya argued that Mr Reddy had made ''frivolous'' charges against the Chief Minister and two Ministers with an intention to defame the State Government.
