HC gives green signal to private college for admissions

Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) Bombay High Court today gave a 'go ahead' to private BEd Colleges for the admissions based on the Common Entrance Tests conducted on July 2.

A division bench comprising Justices F I Rebeillo and V K Tahilramani while allowing the admissions to begin, also directed the individual complaints to be dealt with by the state appointed Pravesh Niyantran Samiti.

The Association of Private Unaided BEd Colleges had challenged the state order of July 15 to take over the admissions, as two student groups -- Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Chhawa-- had complained to the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti regarding malpractices in the admission procedure at the private colleges and the Samiti had thus stayed the admissions.
