Ford India posts 120% growth in July sales

New Delhi, Aug 1: Ford India today clocked a growth of 120 per cent in its sales at 3019 cars in July 2006 as against 1374 cars in the same month last year.

The company also registered a 94 per cent increase in sales during the period of January-July 2006 at 26775 cars as compared to 13810 cars that were sold in the same period last year.

''We have received an overwhelming response for the our Fiesta model, especially for the diesel variant. Ford now leads the premium midsize segment in 17 top markets in India,'' Ford India President and Managing Director Arvind Mathew said.

Last month, the motor company launched the Fiesta Diesel EXi, priced at ex-showroom price of Rs 6.85 lakhs to strengthen market leadership in the diesel segment.
