Flooding in parts of Pune
Pune, Aug 1 (UNI) Incessant rains coupled with the release of a large quantity of water from the Khadakvasla Dam has caused flooding in some colonies on the Sinhgad Road, in Pune today.
Pune Municipal Deputy Commissioner, Anil Gaikwad told UNI that around 35,000 cusec water was released from the Khadakvasla Dam till 1600 hrs today which had resulted in water entering places like Anand Nagar and several other adjoining housing societies. He, however, assured that the situation was under control and suitable remedial action will be taken soon.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau has forecast heavy rains for the next 48 hrs in Central Maharashtra.
