City court issues summons to a Sub-inspector for taking bribe

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) A city court today took cognisance of the chargesheet filed by the CBI, and issued summons to a Delhi police Sub-inspector for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person who is in jail.

Patiala House Court Special Judge S K Kaushik, issued summons to Rajesh Kumar for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10000 from one Manish Kumar and it issued summons for August 30.

Rajesh, posted at Ambedkar Nagar police station since last three years, had allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 from Manish for granting him bail. On March 9, 2006, the CBI caught Rajesh red-handed while trying to take the bribe amonut of Rs 10,000 from Manish, said a senior CBI official.

The chargesheet was filed by CBI on June 10.
