Bodies of Manama fire victims to reach Chennai tomorrow

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) The bodies of the 16 Indian nationals, who were killed in an early morning fire in a labour camp in Bahrain's capital Manama on Sunday, will be brought to Chennai at 0629 hrs tomorrow.

Overseas Indian Affairs(OIA) Ministry said here today that the bodies of the victims, all from Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, would be brought by a Gulf Air flight leaving Bahrain at 2145 hrs tonight.

The bodies would be taken to their native place by road from Chennai airport.

The 16 workers were killed due to suffocation caused by inhalation of smoke when fire broke out in the top most floor of a three-storey building forming part of a labour camp of a construction company.
