BHEL to set up 490 mw power plant for NTPC's Dadari Unit
New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a major contract from India's largest power utility company the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC)for setting up first unit of 490 MW capacity, at its National Capital Thermal Power Project (NCTPP) stage-II at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh.
NTPC has once again reposed confidence in BHEL's proven technological excellence and capability in executing projects of this magnitude. The project is expected to be commissioned by 2009-10, a BHEL statement said.
The BHEL's scope in this work in the contract envisages manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the main plant package for the 490 MW power project. The unit shall be designed for operating at a higher reheat steam temperature of 565 degrees celsius.
