Bajaj motorcycle sales jump 49% in July

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) Two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto today posted an increase of 49 per cent in its motorcycle sales at 171,115 units in July this year as against 115,216 units in the same month last year.

The total sale of two-wheelers stood at 173,158 units in July 2006 as compared to 126,821 units in July 2005, an increase of 37 per cent.

The three-wheelers registered a growth of 18 per cent in its July sales at 26,663 vehicles from 22,585 vehicles.

Bajaj's total sales of two and three-wheelers went up 34 per cent at 199,821 units as against 149,406 units in July last year.

The company's exports saw a rise of 189 per cent in July 2006 with 42,476 units from 14,698 units in July 2005.

Bajaj's sales for the period April-July 2006 climbed 37 per cent at 739,302 units against 537,759 units in Q1 FY06.

The total sales of two and three-wheelers for the period stood at 849,317 units as compared to 654,378 units, posting a growth of 30 per cent. The exports during Q1 FY07 also rose by 116 per cent at 140,739 units from 65,191 units in Q1 FY06.
