2 ultras, security jawan killed in south Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Aug 1 (UNI) Two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and a security jawan were killed in a fierce encounter at Shopian in south Kashmir's Pulwama district today, offical sources said.

They said security forces and Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police (SOG) conducted a search operation in a village at Shopian during which an encounter took place.

In the encounter, two militants of HM, including a local were killed, sources said.

A security jawan was also lost his life in the encounter, they said adding two AK rifles, and other arms and ammunition were seized from the slian ultras.
