Jabalpur, July 31 (UNI) A youth who is prime accused in abetting the suicide of Damoh BJP MP Chandrabhan Singh's 19-year-old daughter, is still eluding the police net.
''Deepika hanged herself from a fan at her residence near the local Wright Town area's Arun Dairy. Based on a suicide note, a case was registered under section 306 IPC against youth Dhiraj Chandwani, his father Suraj, sister Manisha, friend Sonu Sen and two others,'' City Superintendent of Police Siddharth Chaudhry said today.
Suraj and Manisha were arrested yesterday.
The typed and signed suicide note, found in the room where Deepika took the extreme step, said she became friendly with Dhiraj who managed a general store. The duo eloped and got married at Nagpur on June 8. She killed herself as the accused were pressurising her for Rs 10 lakh.
''Today, we also found a letter written by Deepika to Dhiraj on May 19 at Delhi. It said that her parents forcibly took her to the national capital. However, the note mentioned that Dhiraj forced Deepika to pen the letter,'' the officer added.
