Uma Bharati demands public apology from Jaswant Singh

Jalandhar, July 31 (UNI) Bharatiya Janshakti Party president and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharati today demanded a public apology from BJP senior leader and former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh for not taking action against the reported mole during the NDA Government's regime at the Centre.

Addressing her party's rally here this evening Ms Bharati said by avoiding action against the ''mole'' and keeping, the matter under wraps for 10 long years, Mr Singh had committed an error and he should tender an apology to the nation.

She said Mr Singh should have taken up the issue immediately before the then Prime Minister and should have ensured action.

However, the ruling Congress had no moral right to cast aspersions ON Mr Singh on this issue as the party had itself installed a person of foreign origin as its chief and the UPA chairperson, to have access to secret official files, she said.

She said only a personality like Uma Bharati had moral right to question Mr Jaswant Singh on this issue.
