SC orders vacation of Delhi ministers bungalow
New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) The Supreme Court today directed the authorities to get the Rouse Avenue bungalow allotted to Delhi Industry Minister Mangat Ram Singhal vacated by Friday for handing over the land to Delhi High Court for setting up family courts.
The Bench comprising Mr Justice A K Mathur and Mr Justice Markandey Katju issued direction during the hearing of a PIL filed by Chetna Legal Advisory Women and Children Welfare.
The PIL sought directions to the Union Government to allot and handover land to the Delhi high court to construct and make functional the family courts in various districts of the national capital.
The apex court was earlier told by the government that land had already been allotted in Rohini, Saket, Janakpuri, Dwarka and other places.
The minister's bungalow at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg falls in the area earmarked for family courts and hence the same will have to be handed over to the high court for construction of such courts, the court said.
