Police deny Hizbollah rockets hit north Israel
Jerusalem, July 31: Israeli police said no Hizbollah rockets had hit the northern Israeli border town of Kiryat Shmona today, denying an earlier report by the army.
''The reports about rockets falling in the Galilee were mistaken. It was outgoing artillery, not incoming rockets,'' a police spokeswoman for the region said.
Israel suspended air strikes on southern Lebanon for 48 hours after an air strike on the village of Qana killed at least 54 civilians. But the army said it reserved the right to strike at rocket launchers if Hizbollah fired at Israel.
