Palestinian gunmen storm UN compound in Gaza City

GAZA, July 30 (Reuters) Palestinian gunmen stormed the main United Nations compound in Gaza City today, witnesses said, part of a protest against Israel's bombing of building in southern Lebanon that killed around 60 people.

The assault followed a demonstration by members of the Islamic Jihad militant group in the streets of Gaza. The UN confirmed its compound had been broken into. Witnesses said there was damage but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
