Ordinance to enhance salary of members introduced in J
Srinagar, July 31 (UNI) An amendment ordinance 2006 was today introduced in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly for enhancing the salaries and allowances of the members, presiding officers, ministers and deputy ministers.
Minister for Transport Mangat Ram Sharma on behalf of Deputy Chief Minister today laid on the table in Assembly a copy of the members, presiding officers, ministers and deputy ministers salaries and allowances (Amendment Ordinance 2006, Ordinance No 1 of 2006), as required under section 91 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir.
He also introduced Legislative Assembly bill number 10 of 2006 in the House, which provides for responsibility of the government to ensure prudence in fiscal management and fiscal stability by progressive strengthening of revenue surplus, reduction in fiscal deficit.
The bill also provides for prudent debt management consistent with fiscal sustainability, greater transparency in fiscal operations of the government and conduct of fiscal polity in a medium term framework and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Minister for power and Industries Nawang Rigzin Jora also introduced a bill in the House, which provides for safeguarding the manufacturing of specified copper untensils by hand to protect this old age craft from extinction.
Mr Mangat Ram also presented the 16th report of the Business Advisory Committee of the 10th Legislative Assembly.
Mr Mangat Ram assured the House that one-month session of the legislature will be held in August or in the first week of September this year.
Speaker Tara Chand also explained the members that the present session was for presidential address to the joint session of the legislature and the next session would be summoned as promised by the government.
The house later, passed the motion.
