Officials take IAF chopper sortie to review flood situation

Ahmedabad, July 31 (UNI) The Gujarat State Disaster Management authorities today took a sortie in a helicoptor to survey the flood-affected regions in the state.

Three IAF helicopters have been kept ready in Ahmedabad and Vadodara to be deployed in relief operations, if required, a defence spokesman said.

Earlier, Chetak pilots flew for an hour despite inclement weather and poor visibility and reported sighting of a school in which 70 school children had been marooned, he said in a statement.
