Nodal officers to check trafficking of women
Hyderabad, July 31 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Police in its efforts to curb trafficking of women, has directed district police chiefs and the Commissioners of Police, to designate additional Superintendents of Police (Admin), Deputy-Commissioners of Police (law and order) and Deputy-Commissioner of Police (Crime) in Commissionerates, as Nodal Officers in their respective areas of operations.
The Sub-Divisional Police Officers in the districts, Deputy-Superintendents of Railways Police in railway districts, Assistant-Commissioners of Police (law and order) in the Police Commissionerates, Assistant-Commissioners of Police (Crime) in the Commissionerates, have been designated as Sub-Divisional Anti-trafficking Nodal Officer.
At the circle and police station level, the Inspectors in the districts and railway districts, Station House of Officers of Police Stations of Inspector rank (law and order and crime police stations) had been made Anti-Trafficking Nodal Officer'.
Andhra Pradesh Director-General of Police Swaranjit Sen issued instructions to this effect to officers. Crime Investigation Department Additional Director-General of Police was already designated as Chief Nodal Officer last year.
This initiative by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, has been taken in the wake of the directions issued to check the increasing trafficking in women all over the country UNI ASJ GM 1950
