Night and day become hot again after two days pleasant weather

Srinagar, July 31 (UNI) After enjoying the two-day pleasant weather, the maximum and minimum temperature in the summer capital of the Jammu and Kashmir again registered an increase, affecting normal life.

A spokesman of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here told UNI the minimum temperature last night was recorded at 21.3 degree, one degree above normal. Similarly, the maximum temperature again went up to 32 degree, two degree above normal against near normal, at 29.7 degrees Cellsius on July 29.

Predicting no large change in the temperature during the next 48 hours, the spokesman said there would be generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershowers in some area on Banihal- Pahalgam, the Amarnath base camp, route.

He said from Pahalgam to cave shrine, there will be generally cloudy sky with rain. Similarly, Sonmarg-Baltal-holy cave shrine, the sky would generally remain cloudy with rains and thundershowers in the area.

Spokesman said the highest ever maximum temperature recorded in the state's summer capital during the past 80 years was 37.8 degrees Celsius on June 29, 1978.
