Murderer on bail kills six of his family

Hazaribagh, Jul 31 (UNI) A man accused of double murder case and released on bail nearly two weeks ago, axed to death six of his family members, including mother and four children, at Kujju in Hazaribagh district on Saturday.

His wife Rekha (25), critically injured in the incident, is battling for life at the Ranchi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here.

Nityanand Karmali, the 28-year-old accused, had been in jail for 18 months and obtained bail on July 18, police said adding on Saturday he killed his mother Ratelia Devi (50), maternal grandmother Pamia Devi(75), two daughters--Geeta (7) and Rita (4), son Sandeep (2), and Anand (6), nephew.

The reason behind the murders was yet to be ascertained, police said and suspect it might be a family dispute.
