Mittal Trust to sponsor Laser Coastal star Ajay

Chennai, July 31 (UNI) Giving a boost to his professional career, Mittal Champions Trust today announced sponsorship for Youth Laser Coastal National champion Ajay Rau, to mould him for the 2012 Olympics.

Announcing this at a press conference here today, Trust Administrator and former tennis player Manisha Malhotra said Ajay would be coached from August 23 to September 8 in Chennai by renowned Keith Wilkins, who had coached Atlanta Olympics silver medallist and Sydney Olympics gold medallist Ben Ainslie of England.

After the training, Ajay would proceed to Mumbai for selection trails from September eight to 13 to pick the Indian team for the Doha Asian Games in December.

Under the sponsorship, apart from professional coaching, the Trust would also bear the travel expenses of Ajay for coaching in foreign countries and to participate in various events.

His immediate international assignment was Asian Games after which he would sail in the Australian circuit in which leading sailors from the world would participate.

''This will help me to gain points to qualify for big events'', Ajay added.

''It's a dream come true. I am confident of making it to the 2012 Olympics. It's a tough challenge going into the senior category and I want to really work hard and double my effort to qualify for the Olympics'', he also said.
