Jharkhand Jt health sec arrested following warrant from Bihar

Ranchi, July 31 (UNI) Joint Secretary of Jharkhand Health department Muzaffar Ali was today arrested here and taken to Bihar.

A source requesting anonymity told UNI that the accused, during his stint as District Development Commissioner in Bihar's Sitamari district in 2003-2004, was alleged to have indulged in corruption to the tune of Rs 50 lakh.

However, no official word on the exact nature of his crime could be ascertained.

Senior Superintendent of Police R K Mallik said Mr Ali was arrested on a warrant issued from Sitamari.

Refusing to divulge more, Mr Mallik said the arrested officer was being sent there.
