Gurvinder Chandi to lead Jr team in four nation tourney
Chennai, July 31 (UNI) Member of the victorious Under-18 team in Poland recently, forward Gurwinder Singh Chandi will lead the Indian junior team in the four-nation hockey tournament to be held in Singapore from August 3 to 6.
The 20 member squad, announced here today by Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) Secretary General K Jyothikumaran, also has two other members of the victorious under-18 team, half backs Vikramjit Singh and Gurwinder Singh.
The team is part of the development squad which is being prepared for the forthcoming Asia Cup competition to be held in India, he said.
The team, which has been attending a preparatory camp at the astro turf stadium, will leave here for Singapore tomorrow.
The squad: Goal-Keepers: Mrinal Choubey, S Vivek Full Backs: Patwinder Singh, Harjit Singh, Ranjeet Singh Half Backs: G Singh, B Ganes, Vikramjit Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Siddarth Pandey, Vikas Choudhary Forwards: Gurvinder Singh Chandi, Daler Singh,Dharmvir Singh, Alden D Zousa, Sarvanjit Singh, Danish Mujtaba, Chinglensana Singh, Gopikrishnan.
