Death toll in yesterday's bus accident rises to seven
Dharamshala, July 31 (UNI) The death toll in yesterday's bus accident in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh has risen to seven after a woman succumbed to her injuries at the Post Graduate Institute of Chandigarh today, district SP A K Yadav said.
He said Lalita, 35, a resident of Matholi Bazar of Khushi Nagar district of Utter Pradesh breathed her last at the PGI today.
At least six people were killed and 60 seriously injured after a private bus rolled down into a gorge near Ranital, about 15 km from here.
Mr Yadav said Lalita, seriously injured in the accident, was referred to PGI at Chandigarh after being provided first aid at the Dr R P Government Medical College and Hospital at Tanda.
Kangra ADC Nandita Gupta told UNI that 19 seriously injured pilgrims were under treatment at the Dr R P Government Medical College and Hospital at Tanda She said the injured were being provided clothes and food by the Red Cross Society, adding that the district administration was also providing accommodation to the relatives of the people injured in the accident.
