Court issues summons to B K Birla on defamation suit

Kolkata, Jul 31 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today issued summons to prominent industrialist B K Birla after auditor R S Lodha moved a defamation suit against him.

In his declaration suit filed on Friday, Mr Lodha claimed Rs 100 crore from Mr Birla.

He said Mr Birla's recent statements in the media had turnished his image.

The court asked Mr Birla to reply to the summon on August 18.

The matter would come up for hearing on August 7.
