Civilian killing in corss fire in Kashmir unfortunate: Army

Srinagar, July 31 (UNI) A Defence Ministry spokesman today described as ''very unfortunate'' the killing of a civilian in crossfire at Gurez yesterday afternoon.

He said on specific information about the presence of militants in village Bagdor in Gurez in North Kashmir the army launched an operation on Sunday afternoon.

He said during the operation security forces exchanged fire with militants in which one civilian died.

The spokesman denied the allegation of molestation of a girl by a soldier in a shop at Kralpora in the frontier district of Kupwara.
