Blasts' accused received riyals 37,000 via hawala: ATS
Mumbai, July 31: A Mumbai serial train bomb blasts' accused had received funds prior to after the incident on July 11, from Saudi Arabia through 'hawala', Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police (ATS) K P Raghuvanshi said here today.
On the investigation progress in the case, he said a lead has reached upto States of Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh and the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) teams have gone to several places for further probe.
Mr Raghuvanshi told mediapersons here that three-four days prior to blasts, accused Faizal Sheikh had received riyals 25,000 in Pune and after the blast, he received another riyals 12,000 on July 14 in Pune, from his brother. A total riyals 37,000 were recovered from him, he added.
He said, eight persons have been arrested in connection with the blasts and two persons - A Siddique and Danish Khan - were arrested on July 29 and 30. respectively, from Mira road in Thane district for their alleged involvement in ''unlawful'' activities. The accused did not had leave any clue while executing the blasts, but considering all aspects the investigating teams are working to nab the culprits, Mr Raghuvanshi added.
Police have also recovered several incriminating documents, including literature of Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), meant for distribution in the society for promoting SIMI networks, from Siddique and Khan, he added.
