All India Jr Ranking Badminton tournament in B'lore in Sept

Bangalore, July 31 (UNI) More than 600 shuttlers will be seen in action at the fifth Union Bank All India Junior Ranking Badminton tournament to be held from September four to eight in the K Raheja Badminton Stadium here.

The qualifying rounds would be played on September 4 and 5 and the main rounds from September 6, according to a release here today.

The event will be held in the Under-10, U-13, U-16 and U-19 categories for boys singles, boys doubles, girls singles and girls doubles.

The tournament, sanctioned by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) and coordinated by the Padukone Sports Management, carries a total prize money of Rs two lakhs. The last date for receipt of entries was August 27.

This being a three-star All India Junior ranking tournament, the performance of players would be considered for selecting the Indian team for the Junior World Championship, to be held in Korea.
