A former Bihar MP seeks dismissal of State's Home Secretary

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI)Janata Dal (United) leader and former MP Lovely Anand has threatened to launch a campaign against her party's Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar if the latter failed to take action against the state home secretary and a police officer who were allegedly instrumental in declaring her husband a proclaimed offender.

She said that her husband Anand Mohan, who is also a former MP, had gone to Dehradun to appear in a court case following clear directions of Additonal District and Session Judge and a Judicual Magistrate from Saharasa district of Bihar.

Besides, the SP of Saharasa district also provided an official escort to Mr Anand Mohan a from attending the court case in Dehradun, Ms Lovely Anand told the media persons at press conference here today.

But without inquiring to the entire episode, the State home secretary drew his own conclusion and suspended the escort party and assistant jailer of Saharasa disitrct jail where Mr Anand Mohan was lodged.

The Patna SSP also moved out to arrest Anand Mohan and failing to taking the him into custody, the State Police declared Anand Mohan a proclaimed offender.

As many as 23 days have lapsed since that incident, but the State police has failed to prove that Anand Mohan had abconded from the jail with collusion of the Jail officials, Ms Lovely Anand said.

She said her party supporters had already staged a dharna at Patna against " false implication' of Anand Mohan. Also, they had met Vice President Bhairon Singh Sekhawat, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Lok Sabha Speaker Som Nath Chatterjee seeking their immediate intervention into the matter.

Ms Lovely Anand alleged that the state home secretary is a tainted officer and should be removed from office as Mr Nitish Kumar removing a 'tainted'Jeetan Manjhi from his newly formed cabinet.

Claiming that they had support of JD(U) MLAs in the Bihar Assmembly and would mobilise them for change of leadership if the Chief Minister continued to adopt an indifferent approach to their case.
