WR cancels 5 trains, several trains late at Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, July 30 (UNI) In the wake of heavy rains in all parts of Gujarat, that left normal life out of gear since the last 24 hours, the Western Railway Authority today announced cancellations of as many as five trains here.
The Western Railway (WR) sources told UNI the five trains of the Western Railways have been cancelled, while several others were running, arriving or departuring late by several hours.
''The trains that have been cancelled are Valsad-Ahmedabad, Viramgam-Valsad, Surat-Ahmedabad, Karnavati Express (both side, Ahmedabad and Mumbai) and Ahmedabad-Vadodara Inter-city trains'', the sources said.
While the trains which are running late are Gujarat Mail by 1030 hours, Lok Shakti Express 0930 hours, Gujarat Queen one-hour. All these trains are running between Ahmedabad-Mumbai.
While, Howarah Express running between Ahmedabad-Kolkata arrived here late by 12 hours, Gujarat Expressing running between Ahmedabad-Mumbai arrived two-hours late, Navjeevan Express running between Ahmedabad-Chennai by three hours and Bikaner Bandra by nine hours, Jodhpur-Bandra Express by 12 hours.
However, Gujarat Mail, Lok Shakti and Gujarat Queen all the three trains will leave for Mumbai from here as per their scheduled timings as the situation has improved with recession in rainfall in last 12 hours along the rail-way route connecting Ahmedabad-Mumbai, the official sources added.
