Woman gives birth to quadraplets

Pondicherry, July 30 (UNI) A 21-year-old woman gave birth to quadraplets at the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) here last evening.

According to hospital sources, three boys and a girl were born to Tamizharasi, wife of Mahesh (29) hailing from Naagalpakkam Village of Tindivanam.

Tamizharasi was admitted to the PIMS July six. The doctors expected triplets after performing a scan. But there was more to it as the woman gave birth to four children.

Though the babies are underweight, they are all healthy, sources said while maintaing the mother is in good condition.

Mahesh told newspersons at the hospital last night though he was happy, his financial position was bad. He sought assistance from the Tamil Nadu Government to bring up the children.
