Uttaranchal to provide free medical care to 6.25 lakh BPL families

Dehra Dun, July 30 (UNI) The Uttaranchal government has decided to provide free medical treatment to more than 6.25 lakh families living below the poverty line.

Chief Minister N D Tiwari has issued instructions to the authority concerned to implement the scheme. He has instructed all the District Magistrates to ensure that no BPL families are left out of the list of benificieries.

With issuance of medical cards, they would be entitled to free medical treatments, a release said here.

''The card would be valid for Janani Suraksha Yojna and Rajya Vyadhi Nidhi also. The cards would be prepared in acordance to the list prepared by Rural Development Department in Block level,'' the release added.
