Text of Manmohan's letter to Jaswant Singh
New Delhi, July 30: Following is the text of the letter of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh in response to a letter by the latter claiming disclosure of the name of the mole in the P V Narasimha Rao regime.
''Dear Shri Jaswant Singhji, I have received your letter of 28th July regarding an informant in the PMO in the mid 90s. Simultaneously, I find that a copy of the letter has been published in the latest issue of India Today. The document which you sent is not an original and has no signature or letterhead. The alleged informant is not named nor is there any confirmation that the person was from the PMO. If you have any further information in this regard you may wish to disclose it to the public. I am, however, suprised that the material sent by you was in your possession when you were a member of the Union Council of Ministers and still you did not share it with my predecessor.
With Regards, Yours sincerely, Manmohan Singh New Delhi July 29,2006.''
