SVU clears doubts on construction tenders

Tirupati, July 30 (UNI) The Engineering Department of Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) today clarified aspersions against tender issued for some "favourable companies" for the construction works.

At a press meet here, department in-charge, E Madhusudhan Raoof said SVU auditorium renovation works, university building, Kadapa and other construction works were given after proper notification and direction by the government.

He said the tender was floated and the companies were evaluated under the norms recommended by a three-member committee.

Stating that the engineers of the department were consulted and the applications were scrutinised, he said the company which came out with the lowest quotation was favoured as per the government notification.
