Shiv tied 46th, Randhawa slips to tied 50th in Germany
Alveslohe, Germany, July 30 (UNI) A sedate Shiv Kapur slipped to tied 46th with a penultimate round of one-under 71, while his seasoned compatriot Jyoti Randhawa stuttered to one-over 73 which pushed him down to tied 50th in the 3.6 million euro Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe.
Shiv kicked off with a flawless front nine, studded with birdies on the third but some drama awaited him in the other nine.
Shiv resumed his journey picking up a shot only to follow it with a bogey on the 11th and as if it was not enough, double bogeyed the par-four 12th hole to find himself in rut. He, however, made up for the setbacks with a couple of birdies -- on the 13th and 15th -- and then reeled off three par shots to sign off. Currently lying tied 46th with a three-day tally of seven-under 209.
Randhawa, on the other hand, started with a bang and ended in a whimper.
The Indian kicked off his journey with a birdie hat-trick and fired another on the eighth but the par-four ninth hole came as a huge setback as he dropped two shots there.
And nothing went right in his back nine and his bogey treble -- on the 12th, 16th and 17th -- saw him ending with a three-day total of six-under 210.
Meanwhile, Robert Karlsson fired an immaculate six-under 66 to maintain his lead at the top of the table. The Swede, so far, has aggregated 20-under 196 and enjoys a two-shot lead over Briton Lee Westwood who returned a card of 67.
